This issue of Highlander is a very special one because it fondly remembers the tenure of Dr. Randy Pierce, who is retiring as president at the end of the month. You’ll enjoy reading the comments of many from both inside and outside the college who have worked with him to make the college what it is. I have also added a personal reflection on his leadership and mentoring strengths.
We continue our Counterweights conversation between Laura Musselwhite, associate vice president for academic and student affairs, and Carla Moldavan, academic dean of mathematics, on the status of higher education in America.
And of course, you will want to catch up on all the news from GHC in our News & Notes section.
As always, we invite you to comment by writing a letter to the editor at firstname.lastname@example.org or by posting your thoughts in the comments section below the Counterweights article.
As this semester draws to a close, we at Highlander would like to extend to you and your families a joyous holiday season and a healthy and happy 2012.
