Welcome to the summer 2012 edition of Highlander. In this issue we demonstrate diversity in many forms, from the kind of classroom activities our faculty is pursuing to the kind of students we see in class. We’ll take you to Ireland and to the Native American West to experience other cultures. We’ll argue the virtues – and drawbacks – of gun ownership. And finally, we’ll introduce our latest regular column, Bookmarks. In each future issue, we will discuss a book of the author’s choice. The introductory book is Watergate, a novel about the real event of 1972 – 1974 that led to the downfall of a president. We hope you’ll join the discussion beneath Steve Blankenship’s review.
There’s something in this issue for every interest. We hope you’ll be part of the conversation.
