Welcome to the winter edition of Highlander, the online magazine of Georgia Highlands College. This issue features a broad variety of subjects, from the serious (a recap and analysis of the recent presidential election) to the absurd (how a person more suited to exercising at the keyboard than the arena learns the language and culture of sports). We’ll tell you about the inaugural season of athletics at GHC, the distinguished history of our student newspaper the Six Mile Post, review the college-read book Where Am I Wearing, and tell you about our talented art professor Brian Barr. Most of our articles demonstrate the college community’s abilities to conquer challenges and succeed.
We, of course, invite you to comment on some of our stories, or send a letter to me, which will appear in the next issue. We’re eager to engage with our readers, and hope that you will join the conversation.
